Carifesta XIV 2019

Carifest VIX 2019 was held in Trinidad and Tobago this year and some twenty-one (21) countries participated in the festival. From the opening ceremony to the arts and crafts on display at the Grande Market, ten packed days of a marvelous time was had. Carifesta, a regional presentation in its fourteenth (14) year was showcased at the Queens Park Savannah in the capital city of Port of Spain.

Haiti , St. Lucia, St. Kits and Nevis and Dominica are just some of the countries who brought their fashion and electrifying performances. There was even a contingent made up of the Caribbean diaspora representing Canada. The craft available for sale can only be described as creative and very innovative and jewelry made from volcanic ash from the island of Montserrat were among items offered for your choosing.

The Parade of Nations was one of the first events and it allowed the participants to fly their flags high and there was even a display of traditional dance and song. Below are some of the highlights from Carifesta XIV.

Animation played a big part of the Carifesta festivities and the team of creators of the Celflux fame, was very proud to showcase their Animated Short at the event. Hear are some highlights.
